First step towards new major airport in Western Sydney

BESIX Watpac was awarded the first design and construct contract for the new Western Sydney Airport development that is due to open in 2026. We proudly delivered the new visitor centre, which is central to engaging with local community as well as building the airport's identity. It includes interactive displays and is used to host events such as project milestones, media briefings and ministerial events. We also built the site accommodation that provides a project management office for use throughout the airport's construction. Our team undertook excavation, civil and site works as well as coordinating the design, manufacture, supply and installation of the mass timber structure.
