Collaboration delivers project two months early

BESIX renovated and extended two water treatment plants, increasing overall processing capacity by 30 per cent. New facilities included technical buildings, a 17-metre diameter sedimentation tank, anaerobic basin, aeration basin and biological basins. All piping, electricity, equipment and automation were replaced. The upgrade delivered value to the client by reducing the plant’s energy consumption by 20 per cent. Temporary measures to maintain purification of works were implemented to enable ongoing operations of the existing plant throughout construction. By engaging the client and operator in the design and construction process, BESIX delivered a project that exceeded expectations two months ahead of schedule.
